Garden Cottage would appear to be a post-war development in the grounds of Wallands House (see planning application above).
In 1963-64 application was made and approved for the construction of a garage at Garden Cottage.
In 1970 after a planning application was made, & approval given, extensive alterations were made: these included the addition of two bedrooms, a utility room, a kitchen extension and workshop space.
