Walter Feilde Ingram, land surveyor, served as agent for the Gage of Firle, Hampden of Glynde and Chichester of Stanmer estates. He was founder-chairman of the County Agricultural Society, and chairman of the War Agricultural Executive Committee
On 19 September 1877, at Newick, he married Catherine Louisa Helen Sclater, daughter of the late James Henry Sclater of Newick Park
