1901 Census: James I[sidore] Uridge (39) Retired Farmer & Corn Dealer; with his wife Mary J[ane] Uridge (40) and their two sons, Douglas (7) & Edgar (4) plus a niece Adèle Martin aged 13, and two servants: Annie Stevens (16) a nurse from Chailey & Agnes Weller (21) a cook from Lewes.
James Isidore Uridge was one of the sons of the farmer James Uridge. His widowed mother Adèle Uridge had already moved to live in "Wickham" on the other side of the road, in about 1895.
1911 Census: James Isidore Uridge (49) Retired Farmer & Corn Dealer; with his wife Mary Jane Uridge (50); the niece Adele Martin (23) is still living with them. James & Mary have been married for 21 years (her maiden surname was Martin). One servant is kept. Presumably the boys were away at boarding school.
The schedule records that 3 children were born alive to James & Mary. There is a record for William Uridge who was born in Lewes in 1892 and died in infancy, but I also found a record for Kingsley Frank G Uridge, who was born in 1900 and also died in infancy. The pattern of his naming follows that of Douglas James G Uridge (b.1893) and his surviving brother Edgar James G Uridge (b.1896). I leave it to the reader to decide whether William or Kingsley or both of them belonged to this family. nb the 'G' stands for Gibbins.

1921 Census: Mary Jane Uridge (60) married; her son Douglas James Gibbins Uridge (28) nurseryman (proprietor) Leighside Nursery; her aunt Louisa Elizabeth Uridge (87). Her husband James Isidore Uridge is absent.

Mary Jane Uridge of 39 St Aubyns, Hove, Sussex, died 09.09.1934 [aged 73]. Probate to Frank Martin retired farmer, John Martin farmer & Hugh John Vinall solicitor. Effects £18,934 12s 5d.
1928-1951: George Graham: who, as landlord, rented the property to John Oliver Geraghty. 1939-1950: Mr Geraghty died in 1946 (aged 39) but Mrs Geraghty kept the tenancy until 1950.
1939 Register: no entry found, because the house was unoccupied at the time the register was compiled. Kelly's Directory for 1938 records H F Clapperton as living there.
