Edgar Pashley Thorne died in East Grinstead in 1992, aged 93.

To the east side of no.2 King Henry's Road stand two smaller detached houses. A terrace of three small houses was also built fronting Prince Edward's Road.
Planning permission for this development was granted in 1962.
An application was originally made in 1949 for the erection of a pair of semi-detached houses on this site. This was approved but not actioned.
They are designated 2a and 2b King Henry's Road, but in fact the land they were built on appears to be a part of "The Limes" whose principal entrance is now on Prince Edward's Road.
The Limes, originally the home of John [William] Every, Iron Founder & Engineer (1881 Census aged 61; 1891 Census aged 71); son of John Every the Iron Founder. In 1892 John Every, by then a widower, married his housekeeper Lydia Sophia Tune. He was 72 and she was 59. John died on the 9th November 1900 aged 81, and his widow continued to live in The Limes (1901 Census). Lydia then moved to "Dallington" - see notes on 6 King henry's Road.

Now known as "North Corner", the house has been in use as a residential care home for + 40 years. The main entrance was originally sited on the corner of Prince Edward Road and KHR. Two capped pillars mark the site, and the former entrance has been filled in with a brick wall. The original front door of "The Limes" has had the same treatment.
